Perhaps they should change this day's question to, "what do you hope for the future". This broadens things so you can talk about the future in general instead of just your future in particular. Perhaps you can talk about what you envision the future of mankind would be or how you hope your contributions will help or perhaps you could talk about an "ideal" future that could never happen but might be fun to imagine (you know, flying cars, plummer elves, inter-dimensional alien accountants, and sentient cheese).
